A humbling job, waitressing

Been almost a month

Wiping the tables, taking orders, serving the customers, making drinks, clearing up the plates and 'leftovers of mess' some customers left behind, sweeping and moping the floor, doing the cashiering at times...

That's what I have been doing and still doing, at Passion Cafe, until I leave for Penang mid next month

The first week on this job, dead tiring physically and I even built arm muscles unintentionally
Now on the fourth week, it has become normal

What I learnt most, waitressing is a humbling job...i learnt to serve. The word 'serve' never carried so much meaning now, compared to when I worked part time making popcorn and drinks at the cinema during uni days...

My parents, especially dad, does not know my current job or he will have a lot to say "What?! A graduate working as a waitress?! etc etc ... ". Mom would simply be devastated perhaps?

I'm thankful for :
- friend who gave me this job at his cafe and the flexibility of hours
- friend who allow me to use his RM 11 ooo Powerbook to surf during my break time, at its WIFI here
- free meals at cafe, good food
- the chefs who have taught me to cook a little, as I'm hopeless in the kitchen
- friend who have came by to visit the cafe and myself
- the time to read at the cafe when there's no customers as it's opened by 2 christians

Those who haven't taste the food here...come by
Those whom I havent met before my departure to Penang, come by too
Allow me to serve you =)

Although your delivered a less than perfect service when I was there, for I am such a fussy customer, I'll try to come back again and see if I can get you to cook instead and redeem yourself... Muahahahahaha!!

But seriously, Joanne's a good waitress for putting up with the likes with me, and a better friend for the same.

I spent a year working in Evangel - it was tough and paid very little, but it was the best time of my life! I learnt humility and service, it was great.
