(RED) Global Campaign

Check out (RED)

(RED) was created by Bono and Bobby Shriver, Chairman of DATA to raise awareness and money for The Global Fund by teaming up with the world's most iconic brands to produce (PRODUCT)RED branded products. A percentage of each (PRODUCT)RED product sold is given to The Global Fund. The money helps women and children affected by HIV/AIDS in Africa.
The Global Fund is the world's leading funder of programs to fight AIDS, tuberculosis and malaria, which together kill over 6 million people per year. Created in 2002, the Global Fund has approved grants for more than 450 programs in 136 countries with a total commitment of US$ 6.6 billion. Of this, $2.4 billion has been committed to AIDS programs in Africa.

* 4,400 people dying every day from AIDS in Africa
* Women make up almost 61% of adults living with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa and, as a result, women and children are the hardest hit by the disease
* An estimated 11 million children in Africa have been orphaned because of HIV/AIDS already and this number is growing
* More than 1000 children are infected with HIV each day
